Hello All!  As ususal I have been no-so-good about the updating as of late and (also as usual) I promise to try to make more with the post-y post-y.  I have missed you so and have been trying to keep up with my lj reading, but have fallen behind.  Please forgive me and if there is something I should have read do direct me to it right away.

July is shaping up to be Potteriffic!  The weekend before last was centered around the OotP movie release. robvangraham and I ventured to Orlando so that we could view the latest HP movie on IMAX and in 3-D to boot!  I thought the movie was fantastic even though I think it could have done with 15 more minutes in order to explain a few imortant (I think) details and relationships.  This is the first movie that if you haven't read the book you might be in trouble as not all questions are answered - like who sent the dementors at the beginning of the movie.  The entire flick is not in 3-D (though that may have been very cool) only the flight to the battle and the battle in the Dept of Mysteries - and it was AWESOME!  I highly recommend it!

This past weekend I made the short trek to Gainesville so that   robvangraham and I could pick up our copies of HP and The Deathly Hallows that he had pre-ordered for us.  After a brief experiment in what happens when hundreds of people (not all of whom seem keen on personal hygiene) are stuffed into one bookstore we took our books and headed back to his place with plans to dive right into book 7.  Graham had stocked his place with all the necessities and with the exception of going out for our Starbucks on Saturday morning we stayed in until we were through reading.  He finished about 2.5 hours earlier than I on Saturday evening.  Overall I enjoyed the conclusion of the series very much.  It started with a bang and ended almost perfectly with a few "get on with it already" moments in the middle.  There were a few things I had guessed right and a few I missed completely.

This morning I am back home in Tally with loads of actual work to get done, but more on that later.....

Oooh! Sounds like you two had a wonderful weekend. I'm still plugging away at HP7. I'm supposed to be studying for my candidacy exams, so I feel a little guilty reading HP. But hey, you've got to make time for the important things in life, and I'd say this qualifies!
Glad to hear you're doing well:)

I just finished HP7!!!! I thought it was great, though I agree there were a couple spots in the middle that could've moved a bit faster. The ending was surprising to me, especially the Snape stuff! I still need to see the movie though, I suck!

Glad you had a happy HP filled weekend:)

Snape is my boy, I still have hope that he's going to do something awesome. OMG, I can't wait to finish and at the same time, I want to savor every second. I feel so far behind... I'm only on like 250 or something. *cries*

Go see the movie! And I totally agree with what Ryan said about it...
